Answers to the most common questions about our printable targets, printing, and downloads.
We have multiple types of targets available on our website ranging from small, to medium, to large. We specialize in creating digital PDF targets that can be printed right at home that provide target enthusiasts with access to high quality and exciting targets they normally wouldn't find elsewhere. Most of our targets can be printed right at home using 8.5x11" printer paper.
We have a multitude of different categories of targets that have different sizes and variations for each specific target. These include:
Printing targets to accurately reflect their real life sizes may vary depending on the specific category and target. Although some items can be printed to match their actual size, this is not possible for all targets. Nevertheless, the following guidelines will assist you in printing targets as accurately as possible where applicable:
1. Know Your Target Categories: Each target category - such as law enforcement, silhouette or headshot targets - has different standards regarding what constitutes "actual size." Use logic, common sense, and testing to determine which size may work best for you.
2. Select the Right Format: Targets come in various formats, like 1-page, 4-page, and 16-page documents. The larger the number of pages, the larger the potential printout size. For instance:
- Law Enforcement & Silhouette Categories: 16-page lifesize targets tend to provide the closest representation of actual size when used for training purposes, but again, this depends on each specific target, and not all targets can be "actual size".
- Headshot Target Category: When working with Headshot targets, the 1-page targets tend to provide the most accurate representation of an actual sized head.
3. Printing Multi-Page Targets: When printing multi-page targets such as 16-page buffalo targets, be aware that just because their printout may appear large, it does not mean they are "actual size", as this would require much more printer ink and sheets of paper to the point that it would not be worth it.
4. Conduct Tests: Due to different printer settings and paper sizes we highly suggest that you print multiple sizes of a target that you have selected so that you can determine which size works best for you or comes closets to life size. (We recommend using 8.5x11" (inch) printer paper when using our targets)
5. Verify Printer Settings: Before printing your targets, please ensure you have adjusted your printer settings correctly and that your target image is not printing out disproportionately from the paper. Check your scale settings, your fit to page width settings, and your margins. If everything looks good, print out a test page and adjust if necessary.
6. Understand Your Physical Limits: Please recognize that not all targets (such as the buffalo target) can be printed out to be the actual size of a buffalo. For the most part, if you see targets from the waist up to the head (such as human torsos, aliens, etc.), these can be assumed to be "relatively" close to life size when printed out with the 16-page PDF target file.
7. By following these steps and guidelines, you should be able to find targets that come relatively close to life size and that are suitable for your training needs. Remember that testing different sizes and settings on your printer is key in finding what will be most suitable for your and your particular situation.
Yes, you can absolutely customize the target design for your own personal use! That's exactly why we give you the original PNG images along with the target PDF files. However, we do ask that if you decide to personalize and customize the target designs, that you do not resell or redistribute the target designs to others.
The PNG images are provided so that you can create PDF files of specific sizes (like the 24x36 inch PDF files we include with every standard target).
If you have other questions about how you can use or customize the target designs, please reach out to our support team.
For optimal printing, we recommend that 8.5x11" US Letter paper be used, ideally with a 20-pound weight standard for printer paper (most common printer paper available). We chose US Letter because it's the most commonly used printer paper in the United States today.
Although A4 paper may also provide great results for many of our targets, we did not design our PDF targets to to work with A4 paper out of the box. However, you are free and welcome to test as you wish since A4 has similar dimensions to US Letter paper.
As A4 paper comes with slightly differing dimensions, its printout might not exactly correspond with our intended design proportions, so please be aware in case you decide to proceed with using A4 paper.
Engaging self-standing paper targets using airsoft or similar toy guns is pretty fun, particularly when seeing their dynamic response upon being hit. However, when practicing with real firearms, stability is much more important. To prevent your targets from being carried off by the wind, it is possible to add weight by filling the open back with materials like dirt, rocks, or pebbles, as this provides another means of keeping them standing firm against the wind.
NOTE: It's essential that materials used during shooting practice are safe and won't pose hazards upon impact. Furthermore, always maintain an appropriate distance from targets during practice to both ensure your own safety (and the safety of others) and maintain an ideal shooting practice environment. Obviously, rocks can explode upon impact, so keep your distance and always check your surroundings.

4. Choose the "Extract Here" Option OR the "Extract to <Folder Name>" Option
- Extract to <Folder Name>: By choosing this option (RECOMMENDED), it will create a new folder with the same name as the zip file and unzip the contents into that folder on your computer.
- Extract Here: This option will unzip the contents of the file into the folder you are currently located in. (If you are in the Downloads folder, then it will be extracted into that specific folder)
Please keep in mind that if you click on Extract Here while in the Downloads folder, all of the contents will be extracted to the Downloads folder instead of within a parent folder.
5. Wait for the Extraction To Complete
Depending on the size of the 7-zip file, this may take a few seconds or few minutes. If you have downloaded a 25-50 target size bundle or more, please expect the unzipping process to take a few minutes. Note: the unzipping process only needs to be completed once.
After you have successfully extracted your files from the 7-Zip file, they can now be directly access for printing.
1. Open Finder
Use Finder to navigate to the folder where your downloaded 7-Zip (.7z) file is located.
1. Right-Click on the 7-Zip File
Please right-click on the 7-zip file that you would like to unzip.

7-Zip is available on Linux as a command-line tool called 'p7zip'. If you would like to install this tool, please follow the steps outlined below.
1. Open a Terminal
Open a terminal by clicking on the terminal icon or by pressing 'Ctrl + Alt + T' on your keyboard.
2. Install p7zip
Type the following command and press 'Enter':
sudo apt update
sudo apt install p7zip-full
You may be prompted to enter your password to install the software.
1. Locate the Downloaded File On Your Computer
Use the file manager or terminal to navigate to the folder where your downloaded file is currently located.
2. Open the Terminal in the File's Directory
Right-click inside the folder and select "Open in Terminal", or you can navigate to the folder using the 'cd' command in the terminal.
3. Extract the File Using p7zip
To extract the file, please type the following command and press 'Enter':
7z x yourfile.7z -o/home/username/Documents/unzipped/
The '-o' option here specifies the output directory for the extracted files. In this example, we are extracting the contents of the 7-zip file to: /home/username/Documents/unzipped/
Please ensure you do not include a space between the -o and the target directory.
After you have successfully extracted the files from the 7-zip file, you will then be able to access them from the file manager just like any other file.
